The Sue Smith Family Foundation (SSFF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation focused on providing higher education opportunities to rural Oklahomans.
Let’s Get Started
SSFF was founded in 2023 and we’re currently accepting applications for our first round of scholarship opportunities.
We’ve partnered with our friends at Bold.org to help us manage the scholarship program. Bold’s platform makes advertising scholarships and submitting applications a breeze and we’re super grateful for their support as SSFF launches.
→ A link to our application will be posted in October 2023.

What is the Sue Smith Family Foundation?
SSFF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation focused on providing higher education opportunities to rural Oklahomans. That’s the legalese way of explaining SSFF.
In casual speak: SSFF is our family’s mission to honor Sue’s legacy and give back to the communities she loved dearly. Sue often spoke about how her early experiences as a basketball player shaped her view on hard work, the value of working as a team and overcoming difficulties. Her time as an athlete gave her the tools she needed to become an accomplished leader and, later, a successful entrepreneur.
Sue changed the world around her. Our hope is that, in her absence, we can plant seeds for other young athletes to find their own successes and continue shaping a better, more inclusive world.
That’s what SSFF is about: offering assistance to the next generation of student athletes and empowering their futures through education.
